Melee Recruitment : Open, considering anything

Applications can be done on the forums or via PM's to Codor or Amethyst.
Raiding Schedule (all times in server time, i.e. CET)

1. Wednesday
2. Thursday
3. Friday
4. Saturday
5. Sunday

We start forming raids at 19:00 server time. Raids normally end at midnight though sometimes we will extend a raid slightly past midnight.

Requirements

* Gear, the majority of your gear should be a minimum of ilvl 251, trinkets are the exception to this, fully enchanted and gemmed with the best options available at the time, and yes that does mean +10 stats on chest, Berserker on weapons etc. All gems will be epic quality and you should also either be a scribe or have the ability to get the Sons of Hodir exhalted shoulder enchant. Do not bother applying unless ALL your enchants and gemming meet these requirements.

 * You will have a raid optimised PVE spec.

 * Voice Comms: We use ventrillo during raids to brief, coordinate, discuss. This is a requirement for everyone. Having a microphone is a bonus but you must be on vent and able to hear what is being said. We will not type instructions in the raid chat. If you can not hear for whatever reason then you will be replaced for that raid.

 * Attendance: Members are required to be available for at least 2 raids + 1 standby per week on average (Read near the end of this thread for info on standbys).  The more flexible you are with this, the better.  See above for the current raid schedule.  Yes you may go on holiday for 10 days.  No you cannot spend 3 weeks attending 1 raid without a good reason. You will attend heavy wipe nights too.  Wipe-aversive attitude is not encouraged.

 * Communicate: We expect you to be easy to reach. We do not encourage people to log in 5 minutes before the raid invites and disappear after the raid ends. Let us know what your alts are, communicate with us. Read the forums. When we reach a boss you will have read the tactics thread. This is not optional.

 * Knowledge: Blizzard changes things from time to time.  You are expected to have a sound knowledge of your class, keeping up with these changes. We are not here to teach you how to play your class, you SHOULD know how to play before applying.

 * Consumables: In a Unity Path raid you are expected to use the relevant consumables at all times.  Pots/flasks/elixirs/food etc.

 * Criticism: Nobody is perfect.  Being able to take criticism and learn from it is a must.

Recruitment Process
There are four phases to someone joining Unity Path. These are, in order:

 * Applicant: This starts when you apply. Discussion among UP officers takes place and a decision is made. We may or may not contact you depending on our current needs. It may take a few days to respond to your application so patience is appreciated.

 * Tryout: This phase lasts for 5 raids. During this phase you do not get loot entitlement. You do not earn nor spend DKP. If no member or recruit needs an item that drops, then that item will be given to you free of charge.

 * Recruit: This phase lasts for exactly 7 raids. During those you earn and spend DKP normally, but you are still behind members in loot priority.

 * Member: No turning back, If you enjoyed the raiding and we think your good enough this is it.

You maybe called into raid at fairly short notice so do not get saved to 25 man content (Ulduar, Crusaders Colliseum or Icecrown Citadel) once you have been informed you are likely to be given a trial.

Preparation - Joining Raids

When there is a raid planned, you are expected to be ready for invites.
"Ready" means you will be repaired, restocked, ungrouped and outside BGs/Instances. "Ready" also means that if you are about to join a new boss fight, you will have read up on tactics and be prepared.  Do not expect a written briefing 30 seconds before the pull.  You will not get one.

Standbys, Sit-outs aka Warming the Bench

We use a standby system to cover for DC's, RL emergencies and so on.  A member will earn 50% DKP for the period s/he is on standby.  In return s/he will be expected to join the raid on very short notice when needed and for as long as s/he may be needed.  All members will be asked to do standbys.  This is not an option.  Being on standby means that you will either be on your main or some known alt and/or on ventrillo.  It is best if you can be on ventrillo in all cases (in any channel; you don't have to be in the main lobby and hear all the spam).  As a general rule, we will summon you to the raid instance but before accepting the summon you will have roughly 30 seconds to repair and restock.  If you join a 5 man run or anything, make sure your team knows that you may have to leave in very short notice. "Give me 10 mins to kill the last boss" will not be accepted. Standbys last for the entire raid. You may not opt to be on standby until 10 or from 9 onwards.  Recruits may be asked to warm the bench.  Tryouts will not.

This is the type of application that will get you noticed....obviously this is not from a melee applicant and from an older application template version but I'm sure you get the point.

1. Do you meet the minimum requirements listed in the previous thread?

Yes I do.
Atm - I have not been bothered to get exalted with Sons of Hodir. The reason being for that is that I am a scriber and therefore is getting the shoulder enchant from there. And seeing that 3.3 will hit the live server soon, I already have at lest one char on this server ho will be able to buy the enchant if I decide to ever change the profession.

2. Please provide links to your itemisation, via the WoW Armory.

Armory Link.

3. Please provide a link to your current talent build, along with a brief overview of why you are using it and what advantages you think it brings to a raid.

Talent Build Link

Is the holy spec I am currently running with -

What this spec brings to the raid is a purely raid optimised spec.  It is providing a strong and steady healing for the raid, with an awesome ability to heal the raid for a fair amount on a short time (fast direct heals), but it also bring a strong HoT for times where that is needed.  It also have the benefit of being highly effective when healing (for the most time) is needed the most, when players are below 50% health. And it gives out a 10% reduce to physical dmg providing I crit.

* I've chosen not to put any talents that would boost GH - seeing that it's a very little used spell, and the it would take 10 talents to make it somewhat viable, but it would still be behind other spells.

* The benefit I would gain from specing into Empowered Healing  is far to little to be worth the 5 talents in it. GH is a spell I rarely use, but FH and to some degree BH is spells I use. But theory-crafting shows that I would gain more from specking into blessed resilience & Test of Faith. (also the 3% gain in healing benefits my other spells as well tho) But here we go:
The formula I will be using will be: Spell = [Average + (Spellpower * coefficient)]*(talent modifiers) witch can be found on EJ priest forum. (I have in this taken my SP from what I have with Inner fire on, but no other buffs)

Calculations with Empowered Healing (w/ spiritual healing modifier)
Flash Heal = [2049.5 + (2674 * 0.9668)]*1.1
Flash Heal =  healing average 5098
Binding Heal = [2237.5 + (2674 *0.9668)]*1.1
Binding Heal = 5304 healing average
Greater Heal = [4300.5 + (2674 * 2.2256)]*1.1
Greater Heal = 11276 healing average

Calculations with Blessed Resilience & Test of Faith (w/ spiritual healing modifier) -
Flash Heal = [2049.5 + (2674 * 0.8057)]*1.25
Flash Heal = 5254 healing average
Binding Heal = [2237.5 + (2674 *0.8057)]*1.25
Binding Heal = 5489 healing average
Greater Heal = [4300.5 + (2674 * 1.6111)]*1.25
Greater Heal = 10760 healing average

So as you can see here, indeed, will the healing on my GH be lower, but the heals from FH and BH will be higher. And why would I want to waste all those talents on a spell I "never" use, and loose a boost to spell I use often.

*I've chose to spec into Renew for the sole reason that it's a very effective spell, both manawise and HPS wise.  And it gives the chance to proc both a free FL and Holy Concentration. Not to mention that the current Tier bonus priest have give this spell a even better boost.

*I am still going a little back on forth on the choice between Desperate Prayer and Inner Focus  - atm I chosen to go with Desperate prayer. It's just an awesome "oh snap" button that I have if I find myself in a tricky situation with dangerous low health.

*regarding Glyphs, I've chosen CoH because this is what I consider a must have, not only does it make my CoH my 2th best HPS spell, but it's another 2-5k free healing. And with the new T10 bonus, this glyph will be even more powerful. GS I have chosen because it's imo one of the most powerful spells in the game atm - Not only does it save a person life it it comes to that, but it also gives the target a a 40% increase in healing. My last glyph is PoH - This is a another one of those great glyphs that give free healing to a already powerful spell. But I must admit I always travel around with a glyph of Renew as well. I often find myself not using PoH that much(depending on the encounter ofc) Witch glyph of Renew would be what I would be using instead.

Other random info.

Is my disc spec -

The disc spec isn't very open for changing around, most of the talents in the disc tree are highly needed talents that every disc priest should have.

This talents brings out a very effective and powerful migration raid - both trough the dmg reduce I provide hole raid, the 10% reduce in physical when I crit, And trough my shields. A disc priest is great to prevent the dmg to take place on the player, and work best working ahead of the encounter. (with that I mean, thinking ahead of things). on top of being a “great raid healer" (with the shields that is) I am also able to put out a strong single target healing. I will not top the healing meter - but I will prevent the dmg from happen. And I also have one of the greatest spell imo. That being Penance, it's cheap, it fast, it heals for a great amount and may shield up the person. I also have the awesome tools such as a Pain suppression witch reduces the dmg taken by 40%. And my Power infusion witch can be used on myself(or another healer for that sake) for those moments where healing are getting "though" or  use on a DPS to boost their DPS for those moments where we need the extra little burst.

*I've chosen to spec for healing focus seeing that one of my greatest spell also have big disadvantage - Push back on most spells will not take away some of the healing - the healing will still hit the target, just a little later - but with Penance that is not the case, there I would loose some of the healing.
And with the T9 Bonus the shields provided form my crits are even more powerful.
The glyphs I chosen in PW: Shield simply because the free healing is great, Penance, simply because this is my most powerful spell as disc, and the lower CD is god sent, and the last one is atm FH, simply to the lower mana cost. But here as well I find myself travel around with a PoH glyph for those situations where it's needed and a great little extra healing.

4. Which nights (please see the Raiding Schedule) are you normally available to raid on and until what time?

Atm, I able to raid almost everyday at those hours - with the exception of Saturdays where I sometimes will need to work late.

I am also able to attend at lest 3 raids a week - with this being said, I do have both school (premed) and a job beside WoW - Therefore there might be week where I can attend 5 nights, or there might be week where I may only be able to attend 3 days a week, but most of the weeks I will be able to attend more then the minimum of 3 days. I do also have a very flexible job, and may work around the schedule there from time to time, so that I may be able to get home in time for a raid. But that is probably not something I can do all weeks. And I pref to be honest about this now, rather then saying that I can attend 5 times a week, while there might be weeks where I cannot hold that promise.

I am also avare of the fact that the raiding time sometimes may be pushed even longer, and i do not have any problem with staying longer from time to time. But raiding to 4 in the morning everyday for a period of 2 months wouldnt be an option for me. But the occasional longer raiding times will not be a problem.

5. Previous raiding experience. What characters have you been raiding with? What group were you a member of? Why did you choose to leave them? What content did you defeat with your previous group?

The one I've been raiding the most with is my Warlock named *&*( - He was up until recent my main. On ER he's only been raiding with %&*, and (*^&&^. ^*&^ was a pretty laid back 25man RG, we raided 2 nights a week - but unfortunately we got disbanded when the RL decided to travel the world. Before that happen we manage to down Mimrion on 25man.
Back in BC - ^&*^* has been around the world if I can say it that way - and did some content back then, but I started this game pretty late in BC, and did not have the time/knowledge for the higher content raiding. So not to much serious raiding back there. But he did do some of it, like kara, gruul, ZA, maggy.

In ^%&*^*, we have had loads of drama - they considered themselves as a group of casual raiders doing 10 man, we soon bloomed into some semi hardcore raiders and where progressing pretty good, but then the summer vacation started, and we slowly started to fall apart, and had maybe 3 months of break from raiding. When we then started up again the core from the 10man had left the guild, and after that's it been somewhat downhill, where things wasn't progressing or moving forward. And now it's a the point where the hole guild is apart to break up and raiding hasn't been happening  for 2 months or more.

My priest on the other hand, have been doing most of his things inside PuG's - this include the 3 first bosses of totcg 10, and his totc 25man. He has seen content up to General in ulduar 10man, and picked up some of the easy hard modes. But seeing %&% hast been raiding/progressing that much, he haven't had the chance to see more. And I also take notice of the fact that he is missing the Assembly of iron, and Ignis, just for the reason that we used to skip these bosses.

6. Why do you wish to join Unity Path, and do you know any of the existing Unity Path members? If so, who?

I want to be in the top RG on my server, the reason for that is that I want to challenge myself, I want to see content, I want to accomplish something not everyone are able to do.

I am eager to better myself and to make myself one of the best healers on the server.  And i feel that going in with the best people on this server is the next step for me to learn and ewolve even more as a healer. (then i will be able to have your opinion, get some critisism and learn from that. )

7. Please provide us with any other details you think might be important. This is optional but is often helpful to assess an application.

Hello there -

Well like I said to Estana during our little talk in game.
My priest may not have the most /played /experience in raiding as many of the priests you may get an application from. But what I believe is making me difference from many other priest is that i always strive to be my best. With that I mean, I always read up about my class, you can find me on the test realms, I am a firm believer of theory crafting. Regardless of the given encounter, I always strive my best and have my "game face" on. I read up on the tactics, I watch the videos, read around on forums where other priest might give out there knowledge on the particular encounter.

I've tested out all the healing classes there is in WoW atm. (some better then others) - so I do believe that is giving me a fair advantage as well. I do know how the other healing classes work, and I know their weak points and the strong points witch are making me able to Max out the synergy between us. (The given alts are named              )
I am also a strongly going person, when I first set a goal, I am going to complete it no matter of hard it would be. To take an recent example of this, while I was levelling my shaman. I sat my mind on taking down one of the group quest's. Although it took me 43 wipes to do it, I got him down. I am driven by the goals I set. And even though this example is just about downing a somewhat regular group quest - this also transforms over to my raiding.

I would also like to say that I am not the person ho just logs in 3 min before the raid invite start, I am spending a fair amount of my time on my char – I atm have several ach I am working on, and I do also have alts around on this server witch I use some time on. Ho you ofc will get to know if you would like to.

With all this being said, I feel like may application already may be to long, but I feel like I've gotten in the most important things. But if you have any questions, anything more you would like to know, just give me a poke and I am here to answer them all.
